ST JOHN THE BAPTIST GLASTONBURY

ORGAN SCHOLAR

The Parish Church of St John the Baptist Glastonbury wishes to appoint an ORGAN SCHOLAR tenable from September.

This is a new position and will initially be for one year.

The person appointed will work with the Organist and Director of Music – Derek Dorey in providing music within the liturgy at St John’s.

We are looking for a student who wishes to gain experience of working in a church situation where music is seen as being important in the weekly worship. St John’s has a very competent choir that in addition to providing the music in the Parish Church regularly sings in Cathedrals. There is a wide repertoire.

The post would suite a student who may in the future be looking to a similar position in a Cathedral or College.  The position is seen as a training one and the exact duties will be negotiable as to the candidate’s experience and school/college commitments.

Honorarium £500 to assist with music lessons.

For further details contact the Organist and Director of Music – Derek Dorey, 01458 830894

Or email office@abbeyparishes.efhmail.com

Applications by 10th September.
